How to Change Language Settings in Shopify
1. Change Storefront Language
- Go to Online Store > Themes
- Click “Actions” on your live theme → Select Edit default theme content
- In the top-left corner, use the language dropdown to change the language
- You can also manually translate text in each field if needed
2. Add Multiple Languages (for international stores)
- Go to Settings > Languages
- Click Add language

Shopify will duplicate your content, which you can translate
using:
Shopify Translate & Adapt app (recommended)
or Third-party translation apps - You can also manually translate text in each field if needed
3. Change Checkout Language
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- Scroll to “Checkout language” → Click Manage checkout language
- Edit or change the text used in the checkout process
4. Change Admin Language
- Click your account name (bottom-left corner)
- Go to Manage account > Preferences
- Choose your preferred admin language
